Earlier today, my mother called me downstairs while I was watching TV with my little sister. I rush down the stairs to find out what's going on and I was shocked to what she told me.

"Michael Jackson esta muerto." Is all she told me. I couldn't believe it for anything in this world. So my told me to put on the Spanish CNN (Spanish target language of the house) and it was true. First week of summer vacation and already something like this comes out.

I couldn't even formulate anything. All my mom and I could talk about where when she was younger and had a major thing for the King of Pop. She was actually kind of surprised that I knew about the Jackson 5 and some of Michael Jackson's greater hits. It shouldn't have surprised her at all. I'm a '90's kid so that should say a lot. On CNN they started to broadcast "Thriller" yeah, babes, the original awesome zombie dance.

"Yo antese tenia miedo de los muertos." My mom told me watching the video after I don't know after many years. In few words when she was younger she was afraid of the zombies, I honestly thought it was cool. So later tonight me and my mom watched "Thriller", "Beat It" and my mom told me about "Billie Jean".

I'm on my own now it's 1:19 in the AM and I've gone back to my childhood. I've never really said this but the first real song I had ever fallen in love with was "Will You Be There?" Many of you will know what I mean by that song. Little girl of about 5 or 4 with a love of Free Willy and had no idea who Michael Jackson was. But regardless even when I got older and learned who he was, that song will always be the original favorite of this girl and I'm cool admitting that, cuz people growing up in the '90's know it too (and everyone out there for that matter). And I will say this honestly, I do not consider myself a real Michael Jackson fan, but... it really sucks to know someone that seemed immortal is now gone.

Legends never die and neither will the legendary King of Pop. May you Rest In Peace Michael Jackson!
